Kindergarten Regular and Cogito Open House
At Waverley School, we are committed to helping parents make informed decisions as they choose a school or program for their child. We will host an information session on February 8th from 5pm to 6pm for parents to view the learning environment and expectations for both Kindergarten and Cogito Kindergarten.
Kindergarten 'Meeting for Success'
All Kindergarten applicants interested in the Cogito Program will be required to participate in a 'Meeting for Success'. This is an opportunity for prospective students to engage in age-appropriate tasks presented in a Cogito setting while being observed by the teachers. School Administration will use the evidence and observations collected during the ‘Meeting for Success’ to engage parents in a conversation about the child’s readiness for the expectations and demands of the program. These meetings are an important way to connect with our new families and students, and this connection is vital to student success in the Cogito program.
New Student Registration
For the 2023 - 2024 school year, Waverley School is full in planned classes in Grades K to 4 in the regular program. We will now only accept resident students in Grades K to 4 who have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.
If you are registering for Kindergarten or if you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online. Registration for students new to the Division, including Kindergarten, begins February 1, 2023.
Current Division Students Pre-Enrol
You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens between March and April each year.
If you have questions about registering for school, contact the school office.
Pre-enrol in SchoolZone
Get ready for the 2023-24 school year! Sign in to your parent SchoolZone account between March 6 and April 14 to select your child’s preferred school for next year.
Whether your child is staying at the same school or changing schools, all students need to pre-enrol. Knowing how many students to expect helps schools prepare to welcome them in September.
If you need help, contact the school.
Moved?
Update your child’s current address with the school office before pre-enrolling in SchoolZone.
New to the Division?
Instead of using SchoolZone, students who are new to Edmonton Public Schools need to submit a completed Student Registration form. Find the form and list of supporting documents you need to provide.
